His exemplary friendship, love and naughtiness make him a hero amongst his friends and also to the daughter of Viru Sahastrabudhhe, Pia (Kareena Kapoor). Rancho helps his friends to achieve what they dream of, but disappears mysteriously after getting his degree. Why does Rancho run away? What’s behind the mystery? Will Pia get Rancho? The movie is a joyful ride from start to finish with the pace tilting downwards only in the middle of the second half. Few good twists and the non-linear style of storytelling help the proceedings in a big way too. But Rajkumar Hirani borrows most of his jokes from the net and also does go filmy in a few scenes like the Sharman interview sequence or Aamir crying for every little thing that his friend does, or the scene where Mona Singh is having a baby and the scene after that. But scenes like the speech by Omi for teacher’s day, or the first time Rancho visits Raju’s house or Mona singh’s marriage, helps in bringing down the entire theatre with laughter.

Every single person behind the camera has enjoyed what they have done and that shows clearly in the final product. Whether it is the DOP C.K.Muraleedharan, or the music director Shantanu Moitra, or the editor Ranjeet Bahadur or Dialogue writer Abhijit Joshi (the last two sharing their credits with the director), all have done a spectacular job.

Initially, getting to believe Madhavan or Aamir as college students might be quite tough, but as the screenplay moves, we just start enjoying the movie and their acting. Aamir Khan is spectacular as Rancho and age aside, we can’t think of a better Rancho after seeing the movie. Madhavan might not be looking as a college student but he brings a new dimension to his acting repertoire - a brilliant act. Sharman shows his excellence in a role which seems to be written for him. Kareena looks cute and does her role with equal cuteness. Boman Irani is brilliant, but what’s new in it? Mona Singh is good in a small part. The actor enacting the role Omi is easily the find of the season; he is exceptional in almost all his scenes and is a riot to watch.

It’s been quite a while since we saw the entire theatre clapping, laughing aloud and whistling with you. It’s a complete theatre going experience. 3 Idiots is easily going to be the number one movie for quite a while at the box-office and can very well be the number one movie of the year. Hirani manages to give an excellent entertainer with a subtle message one more time.

Dabangg' is a story of inspector Chulbul Pandey and his life. Madhavi Kulkarni says, “It is like a movie from the 90’s. Too much masala and I would like to say that it is a fun-watch but its only one-time watch.” Roshani Dattani took a very tough stance against the movie. She says, “I didn’t like the movie. And Sonakshi Sinha is also strictly okay. There is too much action in the movie and at many places unwanted.”

 

Balvinder Singh claims that he is a die-hard Salman Khan fan and has watched all his movies. He says, “This is definitely a must-watch for all Salman Khan fans. He looks great, the action is also good and so are some of the dialogues. I would also like to add that Malaika’s item number ‘Main Zandu balm’ is total paisa wasool.”

 

Mahesh Shatbhute thinks that ‘Dabangg’ is an average movie. “It is neither bad nor good. It is an okay movie. And if you have nothing else to do during this long weekend, you can definitely watch the movie.”

Hip hop with Sonakshi!!! Yes this is true. Dabangg fame girl Sonakshi Sinha, is going to play a hip-hop girl’s character in Shirish Kunder's movie Joker. The movie had not involved any modern dance in it but it is heard that choreographer Farah Khan included modern steps in desi song that was shot in Chandigarh.
In the desi song, Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi are dancing in the lush mustard fields of Chandigarh and the hip hop section was added in the middle of the song. It will be the first western dance of Sonakshi.
Previously, Sonakshi was disappointed to know about this, the film turned out to be a desi item but Farah and Shrish persuaded her and put up a section of hip hop in it. Horror films in Bollywood are few and far in between but this decade most have worked at the box-office. Phoonk was RGV’s biggest success in a long time and ditto for Vikram Bhatt who was at an all time career low when 1920 released and did reasonably well, last year.
Raaz – The Mystery continues directed by Mohit Suri is not a sequel to Raaz, but a different story that belongs to the Raaz series. The comparisons are inevitable, as Raaz starring Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea is the biggest Bollywood hit ever in the horror genre.
So with expectations quite high, director Mohit Suri (Woh Lamhe, Zeher), Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut and Adhyayan Suman (son of Shekar Suman) promise to scare us with Raaz – The mystery continues. Do they succeed? Read the review..

For starters the story is filled with hair raising sequences, so if the horror genre is not something that you enjoy watching, give this a skip. The background music at times manages to scare the hell out of you. Movies like Phoonk and 1920 couldn’t scare me, but Raaz 2 at times did, especially some of the scenes involving Kangana! Talking of the scenes that cause quite a bit of Adrenaline Rush, there are two scenes that stand out. One at the New year party and the other involving Kangana, Emraan and the bulls!
Its one of those scripts which requires a director with skill and Mohit Suri has proved time and again that he is one of the most underrated directors in the industry. Apart from the last 30 mins of the film which isn’t very convincing, which is mainly due to flaws in the script, Mohit’s direction is top notch. Amongst the flaws, apart from the climax which doesn’t live upto expectations, the pace of Raaz 2 is quite slow.
The music like most Vishesh Films, is great. Soniyo is the best, followed by Tu Aaja Mere Maahi.
Performances are good. Adhyayan Suman on debut (by not taking the forgettable Haal-e-dil into consideration) is pretty good in the second half and has a good screen presence, huge scope for improvement though. But the film belongs to Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut. Both the seasoned actors are brilliantly expressive, a key to any good performance.

Overall, Raaz The Mystery Continues is a good horror film with good direction, fantastic performances and great music. Go with limited expectations and your sure to enjoy the film.
